A Little About Mother Mary:

This mama of 5 has been writing and recording music since she was 19. Her sister bought her her first $100 guitar at JK Lutherie along the Ohio river. She decided since she didn't know anybody else's songs she would have to make up her own! So, that's what she did! Then, thar same year, she auditioned for her first band. She got the gig as lead singer and as a contributing songwriter and quickly dropped out of art school and went on tour with them out west to New Mexico. There she met her 1st husband, the band photographer, in Roswell, New Mexico. The former lead singer for the band had been hit by a drunk driver and paralyzed from the breast down. Aerin's first time in the recording studio at 19 was to record a song for her successor called 'Hawk'. Her first trip out of her hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio was to deliver that song, to one Spyder Kokopelli. That trip would forever change the course of her life. She ran off with that photographer and after traveling through the Northwest and Southwest of the country in a tent for a year and a 1/2 of mountain climbing, fly-fishing and swimming in rivers, lakes and streams, she began writing her own songs. Then, after returning to her hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio she began playing music venues in the Tri-state area of Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. She went on to marry that photographer and have her 1st son at 25. They were together about 10 years before divorcing in 2005. Soon afterher divorce, she was reunited with her former high school sweetheart and they married and bought a 20 acre farm in Indiana to create a homestead. She went on to have her daughter Phoenix. Then moved back to Cincinnati in 2012. It was there she had her son Levi and then her daughter Arabella a few years later. Though she was busy as a mother raising her baby's, farming, homesteading and then moving back to the city of Cincinnati, music was always the constant thread throughout her life. She continued to write and record as she was growing her family. She released her 1st album 'Surest Route' at 40 years old. She sent it off to Art Ward at Century Music Group in Nashville and got a recording contract with them. She sat on that recording contract for 3 years while raising her children, still holding on to her dream. Her career would have to wait... But, In 2017, when her husband's business partner stole the company out from under him they lost everything. She was pregnant with their 5th child at 42 years old!! They sold her beautiful farmhouse in Ohio and everything they owned and packed their family of 6 into an RV to go after Mama's dream!! What else did they have to lose? It was Mama's turn at a career! They took their time getting there and traveled for a few months with their family and then landed on Reba McIntire's farm where they rented a little cabin on old Hickory lake. It was the end of 2018. Aerin did not get into the recording studio until Christmas week of 2019! Finally, a whole year later she was able to record her 3 song demo at Soultrain Studios in Berry Hill. And then...wait for it... 2020 hit. The music industry and the rest of the world shut down completely. It took her 42 years to get to Nashville and the music industry was on pause. It would be another year before she got those songs back and was able to record the vocals. But what takes most artists a decade or more to accomplish Aerin accomplished in 2!! She had her 1st song on Outlaw Country Radio on Sirius XM. Elizabeth Cook played 'Recreational Vehicle' on her Apron Strings show on Mother's Day weekend May of 2022!! Aerin's lifelong dream had finally come true!! She was now a recording artist in Nashville. And then Sadly she would suffer another divorce from her 2nd husband her high school sweetheart. In August of 2022, he dropped her off at a campground and she lost everything once again. Aerin is not immune to loss. It has been the constant theme throughout her life. She lost 2 brothers and her father and while living in the camper in 2022 her only living brothers suffered a massive stroke. During her divorce she took a two month sabbatical in the deserts of Joshua Tree, California. Aerin came back with an album more raw and more real than she had ever created before. She recorded her acoustic album on her cell phone in the desert in and released it from her vintage camper when she returned to Nashville. On September 8th, the birthday of the real Mother Mary, Aerin released her self published all acoustic album 'Mourning Dove' 🕊 on Mother Mary Records in 2022.
